Servitude

Recently I sat through a one hour presentation that was a tad boring, you know what I mean 😉  however it is important to try to take away at least one gem from sessions like these.  Towards the end of the presentation there was a personal worksheet to complete with questions such as servitude.  It was amazing how many individuals did not know or understand what servitude meant which has led me to discuss this with you briefly.

Servitude means to serve and help others however you can only give out from your inner tank that is full. This means growth and development must enhance your life refine your character in a way that is generous.  Think about a waiter/waitress, their job is to serve even though they obtain a wage from hours worked, there is servitude that abounds from their core.

It is not just serving coffee to someone, servitude also is

·         making time to listen to someone

·         helping without wanting in return

·         cooking a meal for an unwell person/family

·         unconditional/unjudgmental love

·         understanding, comforting, supporting and the list goes on….

At the core servitude is giving without expecting something in return. It is important to take time out to refill your servitude tank to avoid depletion and resentment. Care for others and yourself xx
