Ruined or Repairable

Wrecked or Salvageable?

Ruined or Repairable?

Some would say these pieces of machinery would be ruined due to the rusty condition.  Others would say each one is repairable just in need of some TLC.  Notice one thing – it is ‘all in the eye of the beholder’.

Rust is the result of a chemical reaction occurring called oxidation.

When something is rusty, it is deteriorating due to the oxidation left to eat away all the metal until eventually nothing will be left.

We can relate this same principal to relationships. When there are issues left to fester over time it will eat away at each partner until there is no original evidence of true character, fun, laughter or doing life together.  A question may run through the individuals mind, “now what did I see in her/him?”

It is essential to go back to the beginning and see why both became friends and even partners.

A few prompting questions to begin with:

  1. What drew me to you?
  2. First few dates meant to me?
  3. How did I feel then?
  4. How do I feel now? Why?
  5. What else is going on?
  6. Is the relationship salvable? Why?

There is so much more to discuss however these few pointers will open the communication channels for mediation.

This applies not only to partners but also friendships.
